Pirnmill is situated on the North West coast of the Isle of Arran, 15 miles from Brodick via the central String Road (B880) or 20 miles via the A841 coastal route. Journey time to the village is approximately 30-40 minutes by car or 60 minutes by bus.
Turning right out of the ferry terminal follow the A841 through Brodick for approximately 1.4 miles. On leaving Brodick the road swings to the right, bear left here to take the B880 - commonly known as The String - signposted Machrie, Blackwaterfoot and Pirnmill (15).
Approximately 5 miles on, at the stone post box, turn right signposted Machrie and Pirnmill (A841). This takes you on to the single track Machrie Moor road, which you will follow until you reach the coast.
On the moor road you will cross over two cattle grids before reaching Machrie golf course on your left. Just past the course the road bears to the left and forms a t-junction. Turn right here to join the A841 coastal road, signposted Pirnmill.
You are now on the last leg of your journey. The coastal road will take you past the Dougarie Lodge boathouse before coming to the villages of Imachar and Whitefarland. Shortly after these you will reach Pirnmill.
When you enter the village continue on past the war memorial, after which you will cross a small bridge where you will see the village shop to your right. Sealladh-na-mara is the second building after the shop.
There are several public parking places across from Sealladh-na-mara where you should be able to find a space. However, if not there is a dedicated parking spot to the rear of the house.

Once off the ferry make your way to the bus stands adjacent to the terminal building. Be quick as the buses don't hang about and if you miss it the next one is not for 2 hours.
The service that you want is the 324 - North Island Circle to Blackwaterfoot, which passes through the villages of Corrie, Sannox, Lochranza and Catacol before reaching Pirnmill.
Once the bus enters the village ask the driver to let you off at the village shop.
